I hunt historical Fernandina Beach, Florida and I especially love curb strip hunting
There is a 50 foot strip that I have now visited three times. The first time I pulled a buffalo nickel out. The second time gave me an 1887 Indian Head penny, my first.
Went back a few days ago. The heat was oppressive and I didn’t even finish the whole strip. But managed 3 nice wheat pennies. One has “IN GOD WE TRUS” stamped on it. Nice little oddball coin.
Also an 1899 Barber dime. Been awhile since I’ve uncovered one of these.
I have the property owner’s blessings to search her property. Currently her yard is covered with bricks inches deep. She plans on getting them dug up and then I’m going to teach her to MD as we search the yard.
