The weekend highlight for me was in the restaurant with good company....minus the meatloaf! First two pixs is Audrey finds. She had a total of 60 targets....she found a painted penny and won a tube with gold flakes. I found 111 Wheaties.....copper city baby!! :) I also found 14 buff's, two IH 1864 and 1907. I also found a painted penny a won a 1 ounce .999 fine Copper coin! My total targets.....158. :D

You can have some fun with that gold coin:lol:

He didn't hunt... he was flirting with PI JOE's girls...

First I want to say it was great meeting you guys! I fell asleep last night so I couldn't make dinner from what I hear I was lucky  woke up in a daze and sat with a slot machine for a while and then I collapsed and didn't wake up till 6am. Today was a better day for me. Didn't win any detectors but the silver paid for the hunt...22 silver dimes today too many V and buffalo nickels to count. Hunted with EPI today we had a blast. I met so many people it was so worth it looking forward to next year!

Just got home I'm beat...we should organize a friendly hunt.

Same here Bob! You cleaned up yesterday for sure! :wow:

Bob... what was the weather like for the hunt sunday? We left early because it was raining as we moved north and east the rain got harder until we reach New York to where it turned foggy...

Its too bad you slept through dinner afterwards we took our meatloaf and played handball with it on the boardwalk

I'm up for Friendly hunt but no camera's allowed :D

I think I saw that meat loaf bounce by me on the garden state

It rained lightly on and off. It really wasn't bad at all. I was overdressed I felt like I was going fishing off shore. I had my rain top and bottoms + boots I was ready for a down pour. I had logistical problems as I was checking out Sunday and check out was at one. I called on my cell and asked the hotel to extend my stay they wouldn't do it furthermore they told me I needed to be out of the room by 1:30.

So immediately after the last hunt I had to run through the casino wearing my gear. Not good it was an unscheduled stress test.... mental note for next year...book the day after!

looks like early morning on south beach miami

Joe there were one hundred less people on Sunday. Still crowded but more manageable. Saturday boiled down to pure luck you had to walk over it. Sunday had a chance to go a little faster and dig more stuff. It was great meeting you. You and Craig make a great team!

You should have worn the Minelab poncho they gave us :D By the looks of your finds you sure cleaned up ;)

Wanted to post my Saturday finds and story as well! This will be part one of 2!

Great day, ran very well in my opinion.

Field cleared out quick, maybe 15 minutes tops per hunt.

111 total targets dug in 3 hunts.

Kids field was nice, they had a great time. They made sure everyone got a prize. If you have a younger one, definitely take them. Mine are 5&8 and both had a blast!

I really enjoyed Gary Drayton's lecture. Funny and informative. I am not a full time beach hunter and every bit of info helps!I only had a chance to see him, I am sure the others were great as well.

On to the good stuff..................

First off, this was my first ever competition hunt. So the hardest thing was not knowing how things were going to go...........

Get there early to register, I didn't and was running a little late.

Everyone I met there was really outgoing from the hunters to the organizers. It is nice to get together with people who share the same interests.

First hunt was my best. I found a ton of wheats, buffalos, coin tube roll of wheats and a token for the copper round. After about 10 minutes of hunting, I noticed a gentlemen that looked like PI Joe getting closer and I was going to stop and say hello. As I stop to introduce myself, he reaches out and pushes me out of the way?? I nearly fell over my detector!! As i stumbled to regain my balance, I get this signal that almost blew my muffs off!! I though it was a soda can, but lo and behold.............the MINELAB TOKEN#1 !!!

I scooped it up and dropped it in my pouch just in case PI Joe was coming around for a second spin. He had an entourage there and I didn't want to see what would happen next................

 I just contacted Joe... he will be contacting you shortly

On to hunt #2,

Lined up opposite where I was on hunt #1.

Picked up another pouch full of coins and another token that was for a silver ring.

Lastly, hunt #3.

Picked up a few more coins, but no tokens this round.................

Then comes the raffles, and prizes!!!

There were 10 of the Minelab coins, and the holders were allowed to pick an envelope which contained the prize that you would receive. There were a few detectors and some pro find pointers/silver rounds.

I let my 5 year old pick and she drew me an Excalibur II!

Couldn't think of a better way to end a great day!!!

We ate at Rainforest Cafe which was good for what it is, (Chain restaurant).

We also stayed in Bally's. The room was nice, but there is no customer service from them. It almost seems that they can care less if you are there or not.The only people that spoke to us were the security guards! Not sure if they are short staffed or what, but I did expect more from them. Also everything there is an added cost; parking, internet, pool use. I expect parking and pool use to be included at the least for guests of the hotel.

Here are the finds for Saturday................
