Wanted to post my Saturday finds and story as well! This will be part one of 2!
Great day, ran very well in my opinion.
Field cleared out quick, maybe 15 minutes tops per hunt.
111 total targets dug in 3 hunts.
Kids field was nice, they had a great time. They made sure everyone got a prize. If you have a younger one, definitely take them. Mine are 5&8 and both had a blast!
I really enjoyed Gary Drayton's lecture. Funny and informative. I am not a full time beach hunter and every bit of info helps!I only had a chance to see him, I am sure the others were great as well.
On to the good stuff..................
First off, this was my first ever competition hunt. So the hardest thing was not knowing how things were going to go...........
Get there early to register, I didn't and was running a little late.
Everyone I met there was really outgoing from the hunters to the organizers. It is nice to get together with people who share the same interests.
First hunt was my best. I found a ton of wheats, buffalos, coin tube roll of wheats and a token for the copper round. After about 10 minutes of hunting, I noticed a gentlemen that looked like PI Joe getting closer and I was going to stop and say hello. As I stop to introduce myself, he reaches out and pushes me out of the way?? I nearly fell over my detector!! As i stumbled to regain my balance, I get this signal that almost blew my muffs off!! I though it was a soda can, but lo and behold.............the MINELAB TOKEN#1 !!!
I scooped it up and dropped it in my pouch just in case PI Joe was coming around for a second spin. He had an entourage there and I didn't want to see what would happen next................
