Myrtle Beach 2-day Vacation...Where to Start the Hunt?

Finally, going to a beach....got my scoop, AT Pro & Ace 250...now what? Please articulate, mumble, or suggest any suggestions that will keep my girlfriend interested. Also interested in any rebuttals to "Why did you spend all that money when you didn't find a damn @#$@#^$%^#$; but that bottle cap?"

Get the book 'gold beneath the waves', it was written about myrtle beach and will help you more than any of our comments could. Good Luck!!

Keep it simple -- go to the sand turn on detector and start swinging low and slow. With the ACE 250 look for the towel line and start walking, with the AT Pro, test it in the water (they do not work well in S. Florida, lots of falsing)

Go to the beach at low tide, then work the wet sand all the way to the high tide mark. Put in 4 solid hours with the AT Pro and dig every signal. You will walk away happy and you can show your girlfriend all your finds and say BOOYAH!!!

 

[Tin-Tin]

Walk from 1st ave north to 36 ave north, and sweep as much sand as possible. That's where most of the hotels/people are.

Remember to bring lots of chad with you, to plug the parking meters every hour, or you'll receive a nice ticket.

Do your early morning search along the boardwalk area in downtown M.B. The girlfriend can do her shopping there, while you sweep the area. Don't be surprised if you see more than just one person doing the same thing.

Watch for the homeless!

Don't hunt at night or you may end up losing your machine, unless your carrying.

The peak season is pretty much over, after the kids went back to school.

Also check along the areas where they have been setting up their tents. At times it use to look like a tent city near the dunes. And watch where they set up the rental chairs. After everyones gone, sweep that area too..
