The only coin the Equinox 800 was capable of finding was nickels.
If the detector can't find anything other than nickels, I would say too dig them.
You are joking yes? The Equinox 800 finds all coins...

I got the 600 back in the fall, and I have dug many good things with it. But if I go to a place with deep silver, I will take my Etrac. I just like the FBS and the FE CO numbers when it comes to ferreting out good targets, and the tones that an Etrac has. I can tell by tone and how the target ID behaves if it's a good target almost all the time. I am not there yet with the Nox. Will I ever be? Don't know yet. I have found silver, jewelry and many clad coins with the 600 already, but it has fooled me many times too. Right out of the box, I didn't get that with the Etrac. It was the easiest machine I had ever learned, and I learned it pretty quickly. Each person is different, some will like a certain truck over the other, etc. So what I prefer won't be relevant to someone else, and their experience with the same two machines could be just the opposite. Thats why it's nice to have many choices of detectors out there. Use what you like, and have fun, thats the main thing.

Did you have it switched on?

What numbers are you reading on those clipped coins ? I don't ever expect to find any where I live. Just curious.
The characteristics of the Etrac, and the FE CO numbers, along with the tones. The only thing I didn't like out of the box and still don't is the balance of the detector. They improved that with the CTX, can't afford one of those though. Why do you think that is? Why did the Etrac resonate with you in way the 600 did not?

Somewhat similar to gold. On the Nox I have found gold from -5(though rare) all the way to +21. That is a massive range. Along the way to doing this you are digging a ton of trash. Pulltabs , rivets , washers , blobs , etc. It's alot of work and I understand guys who disc or notch out. But the bottomline is if you want gold , ya gotta be a diggin fool !Some folk think that silver is only a high conductor, it's not, you can find in anywhere on the conductive scale of a detector.
