My New DFX

I got my DFX a couple of weeks ago and didn't really like it, it was bouncing all over the place. A couple of days ago I got a Eclipse DD 6x10 coil for it and it is great now !!!! I think there is an issue with the stock coil that came on mine, I'll have to talk to Tony to have him check it out. But while trying to figure it out I've gotten some really good advice here and at dfxonly.com. Try the EPROM Deep Silver, I got a 1959 Wheat with it this morning at 8 inches :tumble:

Good luck and send pictures :spin:

We really like pictures

The stock coil is very sensitive to EMI. I have found in my area I have to adjust AC and PREAMP for each location. DD coils have a tendency to handle EMI a little better. With a Bigfoot coil there is no discernible interference. So why use the stock coil at all? Well, simply put it is your deepest running coil. There is a lot of great info in the Detectors and Gear section of the forum. It really helped me out when getting started with the DFX. Congratulations on your new tectors.

New to Forum/White's DFX

Hi everyone!

Never owned a metal detector before, but a brother had one and I kind of got hooked on MD'ing. Recently bought the DFX (didn't want to do tons of research on a place and not bring the right equipment! ;) ) and am coming up to speed on using it.

Speaking of "Overload". I got my first one yesterday and it was a sprinkler head. The yard I was in had many of them, and they VDI'd perfectly as quarters.
