My Lesche is rusted after 2 sessions

Just as some has mentioned... just clean it off after your hunt. Dry it with a rag. If not planning on digging again anytime soon... put a little wd40 or light oil on it. Try to keep the sheath clean and dry.
This tool will last years. I love my Lesche. I have dug over 10,000 coins in the past 4 1/2 years (counted) and at least half that many other targets and expect to continue digging with no issues of rust.
....just keep digging each day and don't give it a chance to sit idle and rust.... LOL:mder:
But seriously keep it clean and dry you'll have no issue. Good luck hunting.
Wow, 10,000 coins is some serious hunting! Thank you, I bought some WD40 yesterday, so I'm going to make it a habit to clean the tool well after detecting.
I wish I could use it every day!

FWIW I have a 1 gallon plastic paint bucket filled with sand mixed with 1 cup of WD-40 in my garage. I store my Predator shovel and digger point first in it. This is an old farmer trick (they used oil) to keep their tools rust free back in the day.
I haven't heard of that before but it sounds like a cost-effective way of keeping the rust down. Thank you.

Mine has not rusted even slightly and I've had for many years.
Same here, I am using my original one from way back and no rust. I have sharpened it a few times.

I am not 100% sure what caused mine to rust so quickly. Perhaps I should have maintained it better from the get-go, or like somebody mentioned earlier in this thread, perhaps it is something to do with the soil I'm digging in.
I've yet to sharpen mine as I've not had it for very long.

Agree....won't hurt a thing. If you look at new cars that haven't been driven off the lot you can often see surface rust on the brake rotors
That's true. It was just a surprise to me to see rust on it after a couple of uses. But not to worry, this thread has helped me realize it isn't as bad as I imagined.

This was my Lesche when I made this thread. Forgot to post the pictures, sorry.

You were all right to tell me not to worry. I went detecting on Friday, the rust came right off after making one plug. Looked good as new. It's dirty again now from use, but now I know it's nothing to worry about haha.

Think about what a bulldozer blade looks like if it sits around for 6 months and then what it looks like after it starts pushing dirt for a few hours. Takes no time to get the shine back, you’ll be fine with it. Quality stuff for sure.
I agree, I have a Lesche 31" with ball handle. Depending on if I am hunting in the woods a lot with roots and rocks, I will filed a newer sharp cutting edge. I have had this one for about 10 years. Worth every penny. Also a good weapon when needed. It would probably darn near take someone's arm off or at least cut them pretty deep.
