My first ring ever!

Thanks for all the great replies! I apreciate all the comments!

Just so you all know, I do turn off discrimination once in a while. In places where it's easy digging like sand volley ball courts or wood chips in a tot lot. In fact there's a couple of tot lots and volley ball courts that are now devoid of all metal! Sometimes I'll be in the dirt and five minutes will go by without a decent signal. I usually add in dimes and sometimes go all the way down to nickels. After digging five pop tops, I usually throw in the towel and crank it back up to quarters only. What can I say... I've got a low tolerance for pop tops!

Absolutely nothing wrong with that ring Dawg! I would be thrilled to add it to my slowly growing collection. Here is a little info for you...the last two rings I dug up in 2010 were both in the screw cap range! Something to think about.

Awesome ring! We use the same detector and pinpointer. And I got mine in Nov 2010 too. I have really learned alot going to tot lots. You get alot of signals but you really learn your machine better that way. I use the 'jewelry' mode. That way I still get gold and silver but I don't have to deal with alot of nails and other iron junk objects. Congrats on your ring!

When I had my Ace most of the silver rings I found were in the penny to dime range. The gold I have dug was between gum wrappers and pulltabs on my Tesoro. Thanks for leaving me the good stuff.;)

Pop tabs aren't too bad, I hate the aluminum wire they use to attach chainlink fence to posts at sports fields. It rings up like a quarter.:(

You are not alone with that fence wire man. I can usually tell if I have a pull tab under the coil, but that wire gets me most of the time. How it gets in some of the places I hunt at is beyond me!
