My first CW belt plate

I posted this in coin shooters but thought I would show you guys in this section. Was not expecting to find a Union Officer's sword belt plate at a home from the late 1800's in a state with no CW activity. But it was high on my bucket list and so glad I found it...

That is very cool. Congrats. I would love to find some good CW stuff to put on loan to my local historical museum. It's just a very small one in my town that has one small room for CW items. All are reproduction items.
 
Nice find! Old homesites are always good for civil war relics no matter where you're at. Take in to account the owner of that plate may have lived there after the war. Congrats!

I know what you mean. I found a civil ware artillery button in the yard of a house built in 1930. Just should not of been there. Great catch! Congrats!
