my attempt at copying fsa46 water hunting sifter

Any idea on making one out of a 5 gallon bucket? It would be alot easier to carry to the area you want to MD.

With our scoops we would sink something that small.. I can put 4 loads from my scoop into the sifter and keep hunting then search for multiple targets instead of one at a time. Nice to see a couple gold rings in the sifter with a coin or two...

So you don't know if you got the Target if you dump a few loads other then re scan the spot?

Sounds like a good idea. The first place I want to try one is a half mile walk along the beach. Maybe mount it to a plastic snow sled to tow behind me on the sand might be a idea to try.

I'm pretty bored here too, getting cabin fever. Hoping that spring will arrive, soon
I made a floating sifter last weekend,
I didn't get all my holes quite straight in line , but it only cost me about six bucks to make.
A test float in the bath tub, looks to be sea worthy.
I used 3/8" holes
I don't have a lot of experience in water detecting but at least I'll be ready for the hot weather and the high seas!:pirate2:

Here's what I'm using. Maybe once a year I find something worthwhile that falls through. Total weight about 1lb. I check it maybe every 10 holes later. Nothing better than seeing a keeper sitting in there. Enough flotation so that I could grab onto to keep my head up if necessary.

I can understand using the bucket but the sand where I use it would be overkill
I like the idea of an empty bottle covering the connection points... I will likely add them

if it works good for what you need thats all that matters nice job:D

Milk crate lined with plastic canvas seems like it might work well too.

Pool noodles and zip ties!
