Mrs. Claus Seems To Think I Was Good This Year!

My wife surprised me with a slam dunk X-mas gift this year! She came up with this one all on her own - it wasn’t anything I asked for or even talked about. I remember her slyly asking me about my screen name a few weeks ago, but she played it off well as just simple curiosity. But it’s perfect…my old sheath for my Hori Hori knife was finally wearing out, and I like how this one incorporates the pinpointer sheath right next to it (I’ve been using my original Garrett sheath, which has also started showing it’s age).

Anyways, it’s really well constructed, my gear fits perfectly, and it attaches nicely to the tactical belt I already use. Plus the compass rose is a nice touch, not just for the “searching” and “adventure” portion of the hobby, but also for the backstory to my screen name Just awesome!

She sure did! It’s just awesome, and I can’t wait to put it to use - except I almost hate to get it dirty! I’m really impressed with the equipment fit…not just the pinpointer and digger, but also the belt loop is absolutely perfect for the 2” wide belt I use.

Thanks Soil Surgeon! I started using a tactical belt based rig at the start of the year. I love that I can keep the whole set up modular…if a bag wears out, or a zipper goes bad, I can just replace that component instead of an entire pouch.

Spouse support for the hobby is a huge difference maker, for sure! Happy New Year to you and yours, too!
