Now that I've gotten in a little practice with the new detector, I went back to one of my favorite spots that has produced a number of coins, including the 1864 Indian Head. On my previous trips (with the old Garret) I had pretty much come up dry...no new coins found. Well, on this trip I found 6 pennies and one quarter...all modern (70s, 80s, and 90s)...but it was nice to know that there were still some coins buried on the property, even though I had been over the area at least 5 or 6 times. Then I came upon these two nice finds. I cannot get a date off of the Buffalo, it's seems to be completely worn off, despite the rest of the coin being in far better shape than the 1913 I found at this location last Fall. Regardless, I was pretty happy. There are still a few areas at this site overall that I really haven't put much effort into detecting, but that's about the change.
