Absolutely fantastic hunt! Tokens are my favorite find - pulling out that many from one site would spoil me for good!! Lots of great finds there, but those tokens definitely steal the show in my book! Thanks for sharing.

Yes, those "12 1/2 cents" tokens really got me going as I knew they were older tokens, as "two bits" or 12 1/2 cents is based on the old Spanish Reale silver coin, which were often cut into "bits" or eight parts to the dollar.

And thanks for posting this - taught me something new I wouldn’t have made the connection to the Reale if you hadn’t mentioned it, but it makes perfect sense: 12 1/2 cents is to the US dollar, as the Reale was to a “piece of eight”

My whole season would have been all downhill if I had dug that many tokens in one hunt! Tokens are by far my favorite and darn hard to come by. Great hunt!
