Mexican CACHE... Coin purse, a bottle and bullets!

I haven't watched the video yet, and believe me i can't wait to see it, but as far as silver coins here's the break down, there is silver content until 1967 in various %'s.
If you are talking 1 peso coins; 1957-1967 they are 10% silver. 1950 were 30%, 47-1949 were 50%, 1945-1920 were 72%, 1917-1919 were 80%, and the 1910-1914 one peso caballito (girl on a horse design) were 90% silver. If you have any on the caballitos you're in good luck, and if you have a 1914 you've got the king of them...
Off to watch the vid...

What another phenomenal cache find! Congrats. Really like the videos, too. Can't wait to see part 3: the count, the amount, and what they are!
Take care,
Rich

Here are the pictures I took after the soap soak. I haven't had time because of work to get the rest of the video up of the area I hunt... will be coming up soon.

haha Just a good spot and a little luck.

I did find two pennies heads up that day on the surface walking back to my car as well. I told myself I should have played the lottery that day! I actually PARKED my car over one. I chalk it up to luck.

Most of these coins say "LEY" on them... what does that mean? Anyone know?

Means an Act or Law. So in a loose translation it probably refers to 'legal tender' as our paper money says.

Edit: Found an alternate meaning: 'purity' ex. oro de lay means pure gold

I'm guess that's a good thing then.

Any itching yet?

Don't know if it's from the poison ivy/oak or if it is from Chiggers!! But yes... very badly itching and burning.

If it's chiggers it could be from this spot or the beach I went to on Sunday. Symptoms didn't appear until Monday afternoon!!

Mind you, this was with Hiking boots, full socks, and LONG PANTS on!

What is the date on the 2 Peso Gold? I will bet it is a 1945, which is a restrike done by the govt to raise funds. Ones dated 1915 and back are made as circulation items. Heck of a find to say the least!!!

I suggest that you take some antihistamine and go see a doctor. I'm no medical authority, but that last photo worries me--that redness doesn't look good to me!

Since it is pretty much localized in one area, I'm thinking it is chiggers. If it was poison ivy, you would more than likely have it all over, as much as you were in it.

Good luck, and I hope you get relief from the itching, I know how maddening it can be!

As stated already, "ley" means by law, if it has ley 720 on the coin that's the purity, 72%.
Nasty looking bites man, get yourself some permethrin to wash your hunting clothes. Once you've used it you'll never go back to repellants...
Congrats again, awesome cache!
