Fantastic thread. I collect Soviet militaria and would actually like to start collecting pre-Soviet stuff. Mostly 1900-1917. It's a beautiful country that is still lost on many Americans who are still living out the Cold War. Congrats on all your beautiful finds and I hope that you find many more in your searches.

Those are beautiful pictures and amazing finds!! Are those medals that were found in the attic gold? They are in phenomenal condition! I love posts like this. We don't always get to see the beauty of the other countries and unfortunately only hear the bad stuff about places due to our pitiful media in this country. I love the fact that we can share our country's beauty this way. I would love to see Russia someday before I die. I teach history and it's the artifacts like that that draw the kids in and can allow them to see beyond what they may assume about other countries and hold history. Great post!!!!

I witnessed how these medals have been found,
they were in a purse hidden in the ground or lost in the 70's.
I know that duppon trying to find the owner or relatives but to no avail.

Finding military relics quite dangerous.
You can either explode or go to jail for possessing arms and ammunition ...
