Elementary school.

The vids show three rings coming out of one hole (1 silver and 2 gold), and 2 more golds coming out of a plug right next to the first one. I think a mom took off all her jewelry, and left it there, about 15 years ago.

I've found lots of gold in elementary schools (5 pieces is my best), but never 4 in one day! Heck, the best I've done in the past is 2 golds in a day.

A ring hunter you are sir and a pretty good one at that. Congrats on a stellar hunt with battery money to boot. HH Mark

Best thing I ever did was invest in rechargables when I knew I was going to be doing the hobby a lot, 3 years ago.

Cost me about $20 on ebay for 8 batteries and a charger. I just swap them when they run low. Never had to buy more batteries since. I'm sure it's saved me $100 or more!

I switched to 9-volt rechargable too, for the pinpointer, and just swap them out at the same time. Too easy.

Skip, we were just talking about you and the rings you find (while on our hunt)….then you come up with that craziness!!

Super big congrats....FYI folks, don't even compare ring totals with Skippy (land or water) he slays it!!!

congrats. kind of hunt a lot of us dream about. seems like you searched the field in a very organized manner and it paid off.

Just awesome, coin shooters would never dig most of those signals..

Big congrats, beats my 10 ring water hunt...

Land pirate!

HOW COOL IS THAT!?! Elementary schools around here have not treated me nearly as well. The Highschool gave us a 3 silver ring day tho! Maybe one day when I upgrade machines LOL!

High Schools have rings in the weirdest places. I've found many of them close to the school between where kids come out/in from the parking lot, and especially in the grass between the main building and out buildings. I'm convinced they fall off hands that are cold in the winter, either from gloves, or from moving in and out of pockets.

4 silvers from a High School is a GOOD sign that there will be more! Go find the practice field and grid it diligently...

EDIT: Looking back, I've found a good amount of gold at elementary schools. 5 pieces in one school alone. I've hunted about 30 different elementary schools and I've found gold at 7 of them, Silver at all but 2 of them. Sometimes I have to grid those things to DEATH to pull out a ring or two, but they're always there.

I now go into them with the attitude that they'll hold precious metal, I just have to find it.

Cheers!

I think a lot of it is just that people around here don't dig anything but coins. I'm really lucky in that regard. If there were just 2 or 3 more people like me, the pickings would get slim REALLY fast...

I know of one guy in a nearby city that detects like I do, and he pulls about 50 golds every 3 years (it's also my average). I met him on my 8th gold, and he was detecting the field, not the tot-lot. Told me that's where it was at. Changed my habits, and sure enough.. he was right.
