Kellyco and Walmart -Anyone else having issues??

Yes the money from forum sponsors is far more important than the Truth. I was told Do Not Bash (sponsor) when the sponsor took my money and did not ship the product. E-Mails went unanswered.

Phone calls got put on hold until finally one of the sales people took the customer No service call and was able to get the individual I needed to talk to on the phone. Finally found my order that had been ignored for over a month and then told me "We are too busy to answer E-Mails."

You couldn't be more wrong!

Yes, we have rules against sponsor basing, but allow constructive criticism. If you search through the forum, you'll find plenty of those instances. We have even removed sponsors who turned bad. I believe there is a current thread on one of those instances.

Now, this particular instance is very confusing. Was the item bought directly from Kellyco, or Walmart? Who cashed the order and what does the order paperwork say the member bought? What remedies has he seeked and from which business? Has he contacted the seller and asked for a refund and an RMA number for the return of the merchandise? None of this seems to be conveyed by the poster. On that basis, we consider this sponsor bashing and if the member who started this thread does not come forward with the above information in a timely manner, we will delete this thread as it is a rant without any substantial evidence that can be used constructively by our sponsors.

Here are my conversations with Kellyco's e-commerce manager, who was the third person to deny my claiYahoo Mail

Hi Dan,
I wish I was in a position to substitute the T2 for the T2 Special Edition but unfortunately I'm not.! A return label was sent yesterday and as soon as I get the T2 back I will issue the refund.

I hope you understand and we can do business again in the future.

Thank you
John Parrish

Sounds like it could have been an honest mixup.

I don't think it is reasonable for a customer to expect to get a piece of merchandise they truly haven't paid for.

A mistake on a sellers part,,,,as long as they refund you,,,,what more can a person ask???

I guess,,I could turn this around,,,,wonder if you would have ordered a T2 and received a Minelab CTX (more expensive detector)??? What then??
And if the seller would have contacted you to remedy the situation,,,by sending you either a refund,,,or the rightful detector.
And you return the more expensive detector at seller's expense.

Honestly, it doesn't sound like it was at all intentional or they were trying to decieve anyone, it was a mistake. They offered to give you an additional 5 inch coil free for the mix up, that is not acceptable to you and I understand that but truly you didn't pay the price for the better model detector. They even offered to work out a special deal with you on the model you wanted but $400 is quite a difference for them to just eat.

They sent a return label as requested and you're out the money for a short while until they recieve it back, but other than a slight hassle this is a wash. The rest is just drama. Take some time, search around and I'm pretty sure you can find an ever so slightly used one for a great deal since it's right after the holiday season now. Good luck!

Are you aware of the Christmas specials offered by First Texas on the T2 Classic? They extended them on your Sponsors forum. They included a free 15' inch coil,a recharcihable battery system, bags and more. Also,Kellyco offers many, extras with the purchase of a T2,allegedly $300 plus worth.Including a $99 replica doubloon. These were not included in my purchase,If I wanted A T2 Classic, there are way better deals including ones on Kellyco's????Don't rush to judgment on this.I fully believe Walmart is at fault here, but Kellyco partnered with them.Their marketplace agreement insulates Walmart and throws Kellyco under the bus. I too have a bottom line and although I'm not a Mega Corp,my reputation is not for sale, not even for the $400 that Kellyco sold me out for.

A couple lessons to maybe learn here.

First,,,when buying some thing,,,if the price looks too good to be true,,pause, ask questions, etc.

Second,,better to buy a new detector from a reputable metal detector dealer,,,like the sponsors here.

Blind squirrel,

Imagine the following,,,you see an add in the newspaper with local car dealership,,where you can buy a new car for $5,000.

So you hop in and ride down there,,taking your newspaper add with you.
And the car dealership refuses to sell you the new car for $5,000.

Turns out the newspaper made a mistake,,,the reason for the error.

So,,should either or the newspaper make up the difference for the real price of new car with you putting $5,000 towards,,,or should the dealership just go ahead and let you have the car for $5,000???

I think maybe you have confused the following,,,,it was some business some time ago,,,,stated it was their policy,,,whatever a product scans for price wise at the counter,,,no matter what,,,it would be rung up as such price wise.

Maybe another thought here,,,,does Walmart sell any other detectors for such a big price decrease vs many other dealers???

I guess,,,,what should be ask here,,,what did you know about the detector you actually wanted,,,from a price standpoint???

I really haven't seen any detectors for sale new at half price roughly.

Maybe you played too much monopoly,,,remember the card in the game,,,bank error in your favor??

I know you are likely disappointed for not getting the detector you were seeking.

Remember businesses have to eat too,, just like you and me.

After the refund takes place,,,you are basically back to square one,,,no harm no foul.

And this is how our legal system sees these things.

If it didn't there would be no merchant in their right mind that would ever advertise anything price wise.

Because they would always be on the hook,,,irregardless of how the error was made.

For what it's worth, I've used Kellyco on quite a few transactions. They are great to work with and ship quickly.

Product mixups happen from time to time, no big deal. If it happened to me I would not expect them fork over a bunch of money or offers. An apology is all I would expect and a refund.

Casey

I'm still a bit confused here. So what exactly happened ? Sounds like the OP paid the T2 Classic price, approx $499, and expected to get a T2 Special Edition, which is around $899. I assume this is the $400 difference, that KelleyCo is referring to. Is this the situation, and why would you go through Walmart, anyway ?
