Is any of this worth something? Very Picture Heavy!

Arkansas huh.

Have you ever been to the ONLY dig and keep what you find diamond mine in the world? It's in Mufreesboro.

And I do love old glass bottles.

That watermark is neat man! I took a double look when I first saw it lol!

I looked all over the place for the key but never found it. It's a really strange key hole like a split key or something. I wonder what they locked up with it?

I have been to the diamond mine a couple of times, never found anything! To many little pebbles to look through! There is an old man that has been going up there everyday for years, he has sent three kids through college with his finds  crazy man! Some smart guy needs to come up with a diamond detector! I'd buy one lol

GLH!

Don't know if your joking about the rats bringing that stuff in but in old houses people always stuffed things in the wall for insulation like old newspaper etc...Maybe they did it as sort of a time capsule hoping that someone in the future would gut the place like you did.Very cool stuff. My home built in 1904 had old stuff in the walls as well (no bottles though) either way very cool.

No! No kidding! The stuff I found was packed in random places! Everything I found was bundled in a rats nest! There were leaves, torn up cotton, thread yarn, shredded news paper, you can tell a rats nest. The wooden items and a couple of post cards I found have teeth marks in them! I even found a whip for a stagecoach that I didn't picture. It has teeth marks too and was buried in a rat nest. Also you have an innumerable amount of rat POOP!

No joke! When we were hauling junk out the house a rat ran across my foot! I don't have a very big foot, 9-9.5 but can promise you the one that ran out was well over half the size of my boot! Freaked me out! Needles to say I dropped everything and ran! Probably screamed a little like a girl!

It would be cool is you did some searches of the 1910 and 1920 census records for Arkansas and your state to find out the connection of those letters and cards.

What absolutely wonderful finds!!

I just did a quick check of the census records and those post cards you have were prior to the marriage of W. C. Sutton (clyde) and Zee Barham. They were married in Nevada, Arkansas Oct. 6, 1912.

Those are some wicked cool finds!!

Love the old dip pen. And the paper with the water mark.

You dont appreciate how easy it is to write with a modern pen till you use dip pens. Goodness. Expecially for a left hander like myself. It takes time.

It must have took some serious skill to write with one! I would have jacked it all up! My luck would have been spilling the ink everywhere!

You have to keep at a certain angle and PULL the pen.If you push you risk stabbing through the paper.
Then you gotta blot or wait for the sentence to dry...
I have to wait between words,I haven't gotten it down yet being a lefty....or else I drag right over the ink with my hand.:(
