Imaging Metal Detector

Felix, One of the reasons I sold my CTX and the fact it would be a killer repair bill if she leaked.

Could just learn the tones and not stare at a screen. I never stare at my ctx3030 screen.

Comes down to the operator!

mmmm

George , i liked the teknology, didnt like the ipod for screen, to big, software could be better, and price is overkill, the brain looks cheap, but stay tuned 2 years from now could be standard equipment on detectors, Lol I am sure ML is smelling bucks howboutit, i am sure they want thier machines to be in the price of a car range

Thanks Earl, I am more interested in the technology than in this particular detector. Now, if this machine was made by White's, Minelab or Fisher that might be different.
I've lost a significant amount of hearing during the past year and down the road I may need a little more help be it visual, vibration or from one of the other senses. Will it slow me down? No doubt- but I am slowing down already and I'm all in for anything that might allow me to continue in this great hobby of ours.

George... this company used to sell this item... maybe someone else does...or something similar..

Rob... even though I don't own a CTX and have no plans to own one as I feel my Excalibur is much better than it is for saltwater beach hunting.. I have friends who own them and honestly the machine does not impress me... many saltwater hunters won't use it in the water... its not the holy grail some make it out to be..

I could see this developing like the fish finders. Originally they were really crude, but eventually they showed structure, fish size and now you it's almost like you're looking at the entire lake bottom in detail.

It would be pretty amazing to allow advanced detection and be able to distinguish by color differences in metal that are close together (like coins among a bunch of other litter)

I watched the whole video and it claims it can go over aluminum and not sound off but will sound off on gold at level 3 disc. I'd like to see a video of them going over pull tabs, small copper, small lead, zippers and nickels and show me it does not call them gold then have it go over gold chains and tiny or broken gold and show me that too shows as gold and then I might buy one :)

Imaging would not matter if it can tell the difference between aluminum, copper and gold.

the best deal...barring none ...is...

being out, swinging a coil. matters not really what you find ...where you find it.. or what price/brand machine you use, just being outside, healthy enough to swing a coil, and enjoy this hobby and the camaraderie it produces... the real treasure.

the only thing more fun is poking fun at the folks you know and love on the forum..:laughing::laughing::laughing::

Thanks Craig, I remember seeing something similar. I know that some detectors have also been hard-wired to add a vibration feature for the hearing impaired. This might also benefit those with perfectly good hearing when the howling wind makes it difficult to hear through the headphones.

I also saw one that used a blinking light... I can't remember where I saw that one  I'll try and find it later on...

Or hunting sketchy areas where you need to hear what's going on around you.

hard to stare at a screen when you're in 5 ft of water and waves are pounding you..... The CTX can be customized into a dry sand visual head ache or a single toned, wide open, PI.. Thats the beauty of the/my CTX..

Many great inventions/ideas go through three phases: ridicule, discussion and adoption. Looks like we're at the first stage. :D I wouldn't be surprised if someday, all serious treasure hunters will have detectors with imaging capabilities.

I still remember having a cell phone at college in like 1999 and getting made fun of by pretty much everyone...why do you need that? You need a phone with you at all times? I had to explain that free nights and weekends was cheaper than calling cards to call my family and friends.

lol, as those friends got phones over the next 2-3 years I was able to call them out big time:lol:

Agree With Craig

Havn't had much time to hunt with the CTX3030s yet, but in the water it will be the Excaliburs, wet Ctx3030 and DF, dry CTX3030 & GT, almost bought a ATX today deep seeker package , already have a Surf PI Df, decided to save my cash for home upgrades.
