If You Only Could Choose One Detector...

From the detectors that I have used, I would say the DFX is the one I would pick. Because there are a lot of settings that can be changed to match the ground conditions,

My choice....

I'm going with the XP Deus. I'm getting old now...it's lighter...wireless...can be updated...has respectable depth...numbers can be seen much better than some...back light....lightweight headphones...respectable volume...etc.

Just some of the reasons I am going to dedicate most of my detecting time with the Deus. During the hot summer months I will use my Excaliber II in the cool waters of the Texas coast and dig in the soft beach sand.

Did I mention I was getting old????

Seriously.

I know there are detectors for any kind of detecting in the market. And they're split into two big groups, Water and Land machines.

But that wasn't the question. It is really about if you can only have one, which one will fit your needs most.

So, I'm a relic hunter I think. But also like hunting the beach (digging is that easy there). But never would do detecting into the water.
And so every detectorist has it's likings. And I also know many have more than one detector.

Haven't said this will be easy in answering but have also read some swear by their old Teknetics Mark 1 or their Compass X100.

If you're undecided may be you may think a little more about.

A lot of detectorists will be interested in reading these opinions every one has I think, as I'm interested in reading the replies, too.

Thanks for your interest.

One detector for me (and many of us isn't going to happen) BUT given your latest set of requirements, AND if saltwater isn't involved, then I would go with an AT Pro or AT Gold, but probably the Pro.
