I first started hearing the "troll" comment in the late 1990s... in an old chatroom I had.... Called Fight Chat... the whole idea was to have a chat room unlike others at the time where they kicked people out of chatrooms for breaking rules.

Fight Chat had no rules, you came in, started an argument with someone, and sat back and laughed at the one liners and zingers! Was great fun and met some cool people all around the world. Later someone else stole the idea, and I was sick of it anyway so just let the site fall by the wayside.

The thing about internet trolls is that they don't care if you call them trolls, because, they're trolling you....lol

We had trolls in the early days of BBS's and Usenet. That was in the mid 70's or so?

BTW: There are 18 different types of trolls according to this article. You may recognize some, but please, no names.

They should start an organization, might be one of the oldest existing clubs around today. LOL
