My question is, is there a delay in the headphones when you get a signal? It seems as though if there was it would mess up trying to pinpoint the target. I hope this makes sense. I have never used wireless headphones with my detector before.

Mine, with the wireless headphones with the Legend has very little lag, hear the tone, look down at the screen, shake it a couple of times and recover.

It depends on the headphones that you use. For the Equinox 600 and 800, you’ll want to make sure you have AptX LL (low latency) compatible headphones or earbuds to minimize lag. Standard Bluetooth headsets usually introduce far too much lag when the signal is transmitted between the machine and the headsets...you’ll hear the signal after your coil passes the target. Headsets that are Qualcomm AptX LL capable have much less lag...most people won’t notice a visual difference between hearing the tone and the coil passing over a target.

The two different Bluetooth icons are to differentiate between a standard Bluetooth connection and a connection that utilizes AptX Low Latency (+ symbol). If you don’t see the + symbol, you don’t have a low latency connection, and there is most likely lots of lag. From page 56 of the manual:
