I had to put my dog down. R.I.P. Scuba.

Sorry for your loss. Lost 3 different dogs all of old age. Worth every moment and and every memory.

Sorry to hear Sonny. I have 2 dogs and 4 cats. Haven't lost any yet but I'm sure it would hurt when the time does come.

Over the years I have had to do that more times than I care to remember.....Stood right there as you did or they died in my arms........To this day I still remember that and all the good times with my Dogs....That's what counts and gets you by......Sorry for your loss....I get choked up typing this.........

Sorry to hear that

I had my dog put down to she had bone cancer to she was only four years old . I know the pain you feel but i got new dog and it filled the void of my pain

My St Bernard (Bruno) Had a stroke and basically died in my arms while I was on the phone with his vet (Who was attached to him as well). Wasn,t quite the same scenario. But could never re-place him. Haven,t had a pet since. Part of me died with him. He was ten years old. I know your pain.............

Thank you all so very much for sharing your thoughts, well wishes, and stories of your own losses and wonderful pets. It has really helped a lot. So many of you have obviously survived what i am enduring right now so it gives me hope that i can return to normal in time. Thanks again. Sonny.

That is a Very hard thing to experience.. .Sorry for your loss....My condolences.....

*hugs for Sonny* you still have memories, just focus on the good times you two had.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Hopefully soon you'll be up to wantin' to do sumthin' with a new friend. Take care Sonny and remember the good times with Scuba, that'll put a smile on your face.

I am very sorry to hear you lost your 4 legged friend. I know how much our dogs are a part of our family. I dread the day when our oldest dog's time is up...I don't know who will cry harder--me or my kids!

You gave her a good home, and she was loved.

I adopted a dog a couple years ago and cannot imagine what it will be like to lose him one day. You have my sympathy.

-Mike-

my thoughts are definitely with you today...pets are family members and it's extremely rough to let one go.

we're at inlaws and i got a call out at deer camp/the farm from wife sobbing saying our Wirehaired Pointing Griffon hadnt eaten all night, hadnt gone to the bathroom, was shaking, wouldnt sit....so i drive 14miles in blizzard to get back and luckily it's just a bladder obstruction...

Our pets

I no longer have any pets. A decision we made when we retired. It makes losing the last one tougher when you don't bring another into the family. It almost seems unfair by design that a pets life span should be one seventh of our own.
I am sure Scuba would want you to share your life and give comfort to another.
Visit a shelter. Sorry for your loss.......Gil
