I believe it's a watch fob but does anyone have any more information? Found in central Texas.

That's a good idea I didn't think about it. On the back when when it looks like there used to be an "A" and maybe a bell on it on each side of the star

Possibly a lid/cover /cap to a stereo type heat source. My uncle has one like that. Flip open & refill with fuel & it s stuffed with a cloth type material. Maybe not but certainly rings a bell... Very older source of heat to warm food or something. Not sure of exact purpose but its the same lid.

It's not magnetic looks like copper. I'm still a novice at Best when it comes to this

Ok it's probably silver-plated copper and that would be something horse tack orientated. Cool find

Completely a guess. I found one that has an Indian in head dress. Thought it was meant to dangle from a leather strap somewhere on something.

weight is important for a fob, is it heavy for size? metal type, brassy? and some good close up clear pics would help, the shape and design looks 'fobbish'.
