How to find the Indian Head Pennies

ATPro had a solid "77" at 6 inches. 1896 IH

CTX had 12/26 at 3 inches. 1906 IH

CTX had 12/30 + 12/29 bean field IH's. Worn green 1881 + 1882.

Man I dig lotsa zinc pennies for some reason and I have never gotten an IH. I've never dug at an 1800's house curb strip though. I did a 1800's farm house but I think there were either none there or the sink rate made them out of range for me? Hope to find one soon though.

I have a site that has produced 9 Indians over the past month. I use Find Point on my CTX 3030 for every find which also records the FE CO numbers, depth, and location. I went back and looked at the numbers. Here are the numbers of each as they rang up on the CTX, all coming from 6-8 inches deep.

Not sure why the last one came in at 12-11 but it did. Hope this helps you guys who swing a CTX or Etrac.

Indians come in slightly higher than zinc for me, but lower than copper. On the F5, zinc is around 60, Indians sit around 64, and copper pennies are about 72. Gotta dig those zincs too, cuz those zinc numbers could also be gold.....or so I'm told. still waiting for gold here.

I found an 18k ring while digging zinc cents so yes dig those zinc cents. You just might be rewarded some day.

I found a big thick 14k wedding band with my ctx that came in out a corroded zinc penny signal. If you want gold you gotta dig those lower signals for sure
