How important is a depth gauge to you? (Ace250 vs Prizm II)

Just to follow up - I got my ACE 250 today and pinpointing seems spot on to me. I haven't had a chance to test it much but so far it seems to be right in that cutout above where the coil attaches to the shaft. If it wasn't so freaking hot I'd probably have half the yard dug up by now. Lots of signals out there but probably mostly trash. This house was built in 1999 so probably mostly nails.

Garrett Ace

Hello Bruce, Congrats on the Garrett. I purchased a Ace 150 last summer, it was an upgrade from my fathers Whites Coinmaster of the 70's. It was like going from a slow moving freight train to a Ferrari. I wish I had researched a little more and picked up the Ace 250 with pinpointing. I have found it pretty easy to pinpoint with my 150. I guess if you have never had the pinpoint feature you don't know what you are missing. The head on my detector picks up just in front of the center bar very accurately. I can usually get within a 2" circle of my target. I think you will be very pleased with your detector. Goood HUNTING!:spin:
