History Channel Tonight

That was a pretty good "documentary". Seemed like those guys could have used my help. I would be digging by hand and living off of worms and grass until I hit that sucker!

I was flipping back and forth between football (I'm a Purdue grad and gotta watch Kyle Orton) and this treasure show, so I may not have it completely straight.

But what I seemed to see was a couple of small caches found, and a small gold bar, and then they brought in heavy equipment and dug halfway to a treasure chest and then packed up and went home???

By the way, I hate the History Channel for the way it tries to bring suspense into all its programs, often at the expense of truth. And I hate their stupid recreations with actors. That ain't history, that's show biz!

Very exciting to see the gold and silver!!! I don't believe for one minute that those guys stopped digging that hilltop because of funding and weather. Any one of us would be out there with a shovel digging non-stop til we found out what the "rectangular shaped" object was buried 16 feet under ground!!!

i missed the first 30 min of it. what was the deal with the badges and guns that the treasure hunters had? the guns i can understand ( i usually carry as well) but the badges seemed odd(silly if they aren't some form of law enforcement) to me.

And I also have to complain that this two-hour show was really a half-hour show full of tons of repetition and unnecessary film footage. How many times can we watch that "animated drawing" of Robt Ford shooting Jesse?

AND: how many of you could just walk away from a good target hit at one foot?

Oh, and I'm sending my DNA to that guy. I think I'm Jesse's great-grandson.

My grandfather was very mysterious about that.

It looked to me like they dug up half the hillside.

I would said the box shape turned out to be a big rock or something like that.

Why else would they quit digging.

Yah I hear you. Could have edited it down to 30 minutes. I kept wondering what a dedicated group of people from this forum could accomplish. Anywhere! Seeing those guys actually finding a cache or two made me feel like an oaf. :roll:Then angry with myself. Then newly motivated. But it was more entertaining than most of the usual programming.

no way

there is no way i would have stopped diggin but it is kinda hard to belive that the buried it in 16 feet of dirt with no power equipment they either had alot of men or aliens done it for them and if there was a lot of men doing it dont you think it would have been gone by now

p.s do you know how to keep a secret between 2 men?

The gun thing was never explained. The badge could be nothing more than a concealed weapons permit badge.

I forgot all about it, but now that I've looked at the channel guide, the History Channel showed Patton 360 on my cable network.
