Help with copper piece

At first I blew it off as a cap for copper pipe, but everything my son and I have found in this area is late 1800s to early 1900s. Someone suggested maybe a cane tip or walking stick tip but it's thin on the bottom and all the ones I've seen online are thick on the bottom. Any help is appreciated!

I am inclined to think either a lipstick tube cap or a fuse end. But I'm just throwing out some wags. 1" is pretty wide for lipstick
