Help! Need to quit smoking, and it's my wife's fault!

Congrats so far, sounds like you are doing very well considering how much you smoked and for how long. Don't consider it a failure if you have one real cig now and again, just set easy to reach goals to ween yourself off the real ones slowly and steadily.

Update: end of day 4 of not smoking any cigs. Vapor is doing great, was craving a cig pretty bad earlier today...but it passed. Been doing fine even after eating a hefty amount of Thanksgiving Day dinner with family, but vaping just doesn't compare to having that first cig when you wake up in the morning. Finding out that first morning cig is the one I'm going to be missing most, but if that's all I am having to struggle against then so be it...I can handle missing that one.

Again, I appreciate all the advice and help that y'all gave! So far, so good! And I hope you and your family had a safe and blessed Thanksgiving!

Congrats, sounds like you're on track!

Btw, I saw this video on youtube earlier today on how your lungs/throat look like after smoking a pack of cigarettes everyday for one month. Quite interesting actually.

One of my sons was a heavy smoker and he switched to one of those vap things. Now I think he's hooked on them. It worries me because I have heard of them exploding.

Well, both smoking or vaping ain't exactly good for you. Vaping is much better because no tar. The devices have become somewhat better and safer because they have been around longer now and have some built in protections. Most of the battery explosion I heard of were because of people carrying around unsecured batteries rubbing with metal items in their pockets creating charges.
