Hello there, I’m new to the community and the metal detecting world. I have always loved history and just recently decided to actually start doing it. I have some family in Mexico and in the nearby beach these have been washing up. They ended up finding 10(just laying around). I decided to purchase the Equinox 800, I will be going in a couple months so I have some time to practice. I live in San Diego,CA so I will be practicing there. What do you guys recommend for finding gold coins in the beach?

Recommendations for finding gold coins on the beach? I have never beach hunted but can honestly recommend you get a rabbits foot, a four leaf clover and the long end of a wishbone.

Welcome from So.Cal. Your family has the best advice , you don't need a detector. Like in Mexico , in Diego after a big storm just walk the beach and pickup double eagles. Certain beaches are just littered.....🤣
