Hammered coin and unusual item for ID please.

Can anyone help to ID these two items that I've recently found!
one is a hammered penny I think of henry ii..
the second I have no idea..some sort of mount..
both were found close to a norman period church..

I'm pretty sure the second piece is part of a tool used to work on Model A's. Gramps had one in his shop that looked a lot like that.

Well, it was more fun with no pictures.

That's a really interesting coin. Can you make out any of the letters on it?

The first thing I thought of when I saw the face was Medusa but the cross on the other side throws that off.

I think I found it. It may be a John Lackland halfpenny coin though it's not a 100% match from what I have found so far:
