The asian version of YouTube has completely destroyed detecting over here. Clicking on the website has around 40% detecting videos on the home page

My point is if they don't like it then move on. No need to comment something nasty or mean just because. There are a lot of threads I do not comment on for certain reasons so I just keep moving..
 
Thanks everyone, I get some of your points but as someone who is sick & in need i have to ask for help & this is the friendly metal detecting forum, i must have been confused i though i could ask my friends for help =( . I've found many people on here i consider friends but i will no longer add my content here as that was the last straw .

Romy,

Asking your FRIENDS for help via PM's would have been fine. The mods and owners here have a very tough job. I am sure you have heard the saying one bad apple spoils the whole batch.

My contests on here are not even wanted by the mods or owners. They are condoned but not endorsed. You were not here when a shop in Hawaii offered a pinpointer, then two detectors and then a trip to Hawaii and he never gave out one prize. A lot of folks left the forum after that fiasco.

NOBODY is saying you are trying to scam anyone for money. But I feel the owners don't want to be put in any kind of predicament. That is why they have rules in place and they don't bend them for anyone.

As a long time member on here I even was given a vacation for calling a liar out on posts. I am absolutely positive a moderator couldn't ask for donations either if they had a life threatening problem. Nobody gets special treatment.

I hope you can beat this. We all have one life to live. May peace be with you on your journey, wherever that takes you in life.
 
Big difference between being friendly and being friends. It's time like this you find out who your friends are. You don't have to ask your friends for help, if they are truly friends they are already helping.
This thread has survived, everybody knows you are needing help, anybody who wants to can find your fundraiser, what has the forum done wrong except delete a post with direct links to sales?
 
God Bless you and your family and friends. my father in law and brother in law are in your same predicament. we work all day and head to each of their farms every evening to do what we can. I truly feel for you. stay strong brother.
 
In situations like this, one would assume that the Admin/Mod members would get together and find a work-around to help a member. For example, an Admin could vett the situation, post a sticky, pin a post (even a locked thread), or some sort of notification for the member in need. I hope this didn't happen like it reads, because saying "so sorry" and washing ones' hands clean of compassion is more of an indifferent Pontius Pilate approach than a "Friendly" one.

As the Administrator in question, I have tried to stay away from making a public post, but I do not want the forum owners or the forum members think that the forum management is heartless, or uncaring.

This was my PM to Gerome, after his post soliciting donations from forum members in return for shipping a T-shirt to the donee (soliciting donations and selling outside the classifieds are expressly forbidden in our rules).

I am really sorry to hear about your cancer. I am doubly sorry that I find it necessary to remove your thread titled "Help I really need it", because of our rules concerning selling on the open forum. This was not done lightly and only after consultation with the forum owners.

Having said that, you could sell those T-shirts on the classifieds (FS other items), as long as it follows forum rules.

It should be pointed out that in his Facebook page, he does offer those T-shirts for sale.

He has chosen not to post a FS in the classifieds and instead created this new thread.

You have lived more of a Life than most people half your age!...You have generously shared and Taken us along through your Vids of a Life well lived....Battled and emerged victorious over extreme odds once...Theres a lot of us out here that would gladly take your place if we could...But it dont work that way...

A guy like you is very rare..that dont mean nothing to to Cancer though, we know that...from the sounds of it, you got no good go forward choices except on how you deal with this....to fight this fight to your utmost and either emerge triumphant or Lose it graciously and perhaps pass along some wisdom to the Forum....?

I'll be the cold hearted one. With a group this size there are a bunch of people sick and dying, dropping cars on themselves,homes destroyed by hurricanes, losing jobs or just the regular troubles of life and death. Where would the line be drawn to help, members with over 200 posts, over 2 years or just the well liked ones? It's a no win situation for the forum.

Agreed!..I'm sure Romy would have no hard feelings...Death is stalking us all in various forms and fashions...We will all meet here there or in the air...Thats the deal...This is a big Planet, coils are small, Time and Gold waits for Nobody!...Thats the deal..Death is stalking us all...Nothing wrong with that...Its a given...

Forummly speaking..it seems that Tesoro swingers get a bit of a pass from death though? I've noticed? Theres this one guy here, he has to be 150yrs old! Swings a compadre! So I'm gonna look into this phenomenon! I want that SS check I've paid into all this time!
 
The most important thing one can have is 100% assurance of salvation through faith and grace. I hope you have that . If not, it is never too late as long as one lives.
I have known so many people who went through cancer, But were totally at peace the whole time knowing that God is in total control, God always knows best even if it doesn't make sense to us. I will keep you in my prayers.
