Glory hole

I hunt a park that has several areas like you mention. some contain mostly quarters, some dimes, nickles, and pennies. My hunting partner is a bit older than me and said they are probably whats left of a haystack hunt. My understanding is they threw change into a hay pile for the kids to search.

Seems plausible to me but who knows?

Man y'all made me laugh so hard. I seen "Glory Hole" and instaly thought someone was detecting near an adult video store. Man you guys are so funny.

how lucky you were in two ways

in March when there weren't many poeple in Chestnut Ridge Park to "disturbe" i was told by a park worker that it was illeagle to metal detect in the park and to stop right away so i guess you were lucky to have not been made to stop.
