I need an unbiased opinion on which of these will make the better relic machine? I live in Central Va, so the ground can be fairly hot in some of my spots. I am looking for a machine to re-open some of my hunted out camps, etc. The Garrett costs more but would double as my beach machine so price is not a concern.....if I go with Bliss, I will buy a Sovereign to use at the beach so price will still even out.... Who has experience with the ATX and the Blisstool?
Thanks!

I currently have a Blisstool V6 and ATX.

For relics-- it would depend on how high a minerals your soil possesses

In the super hot ATX deeper on lower and mid conductors

In medium to slightly hotter-- Blisstool will do very well on all but the real small
Relics-- it will find them, just not as deep as atx
ATX loves small low conductors --- even with 10x12 stock coil

Blisstool does have disc-- it works pretty good too

ATX-- iron rejection,,, works but as iron deepens not reliable, meaning on deeper iron you will get no rejection at all, or at least not textbook rejection.

EMI handling and stability on warm and hot ground--- could be the most stable unit currently made.
Does do a auto scan when iniated--- solid system

Not hard on batteries either--- tons better than TDI

I realize you asked about Blisstool V5---1 I would instead opt for V6 model, the
Reason for this is the V6 model has the capability to have faster recovery with option of ORE-- does separate better than V5, and believe it or not,,,not far back from Deus
Unit does operate at 8 kHz, with turbo boost running at 7.4 kHz

My Blisstool V6 will strike my 13" clad dime in my test garden with stock 11" coil.

In CW sites IMO a nice detector-- deep
I do have the newer released 7x9" coil
I don't have the 15" coil

Both ATX and Blisstool do have their places in the relic hunting world-- with the ATX the hotter the ground the more its performance capabilities will be seen.

Hope this helps

So if you could only have one of them....which one?

For dry land hunting, V6 Blisstool

I should add, I talk occassionally with folks who hunt pounded CW sites in Va.
They seem to do well with the Blisstool V6--- considering how hard the sites have been hunted.
And a lot of the sites they hunt have been pounded by nautilus as well.

The biggest complaint I hear about the ATX is its weight. Do you find it to be to heavy to swing for long periods of time? I have just went through so many VLF machines that are great until they hit our nasty soil that I tend to lean toward a PI....but the Blisstools sure sound great!

Well it is not light.

You can use a harness.

Thanks for your opinions.....It is hard to find someone with experience with both of these machines. I am still on the fence about the two and don't know anyone local who owns either so talking to people like you is what I will have to go by. Thanks again!

I currently have an AT Gold, AT Pro and a G2+ ltd....I have owned: F75 ltd/T2, Tejon, Vaquero, Silver Umax, Eldorado Umax, CZ-3d, Explorer SE, Sand Shark and a few others....

Alright, looking at your Arsenal.

For relic hunting in your area where the soil is not so nice.
If you have both of these.
Xp Deus
Blisstool V6

You already have At Pro so some water hunting possible

Or a Deus in conjunction with ATX or Minelab GPX-- say cheaper 4500 or 4800

I do know this--- in hot soil, you can scratch the F series fishers off your list and the CZ line as well.
