New guy in the Fox Valley

Hey everyone, I'm new to the hobby. So much so, that I've yet to even purchase a detector (gonna wait for early spring...or at least try to wait).

I'm interested in meeting up with some of you locals for some tips and group hunts. Would highly appreciate a mentor-of-sorts. I'm in Oshkosh for at least another 2 years.

Cool, when(if ever) the ground thaws out, we should get some of us around this area together for a group hunt

Ohhh boy, sounds like a group hunt could be in the works. BUT, this thread is four years old, so not sure if others are still looking.

If the time is right I might be able to swing up and receive an education!

Hey big treble, there's still life on this thread. I see your from Southwest WI. I have relatives in Iowa county and that's where I like to hunt and fish. I know someone else who wants to detect in your part of the state also so I think a group hunt could easily happen

Still a real active group of us in SE wisconsin around the Milwaukee area that hunt alot. Myself, Matmit, Jack&Jill to name a few, just look us up.

I'd definitely be interested in joining you guys when the ground thaws. I'm in the far north suburbs of Chicago so Milwaukee is just a short drive.

Live in Milwaukee. I already met matmit (say that ten times fast ) on the forum. Anyone know of any private land they have permission to go on? I'm scoping a few private places to hit this summer.... after I get permission.

Welcome from central WI. I am VP of the club Wausau Prospectors. Many of our members both detect and prospect. Our club has both detecting and prospecting outings. Our last indoor meeting until fall is May 7, just off Hwy 29 in Wittenberg. All are welcome to attend. The guest speaker will be on the ultimate form of metal detecing (Dowsing). Iv'e seen it work enough times to not just be coinsidence but still not a true believer.
