Congrats on the silver nickel! We have some of those frozen ground issues here in Michigan as well. My first time out in January we had a thaw so I went out, but discovered that I could only dig targets where the ground was directly in the sun. Shady spots were still frozen solid and are "saved" for another visit to that park. I could not chop through the frost.
