Took me a little over a year to find my first silver coin, but I finally checked it off the bucket list last night with a 1944 Mercury Dime!

Great job, That's a beauty. My first was a 1943 mercury dime. That first silver coin is one you will always remember. Hopefully it is the first of many to come. Congrats.
That really is a pretty coin

Thank you! I'm definitely going to remember this one. I've been obsessed with finding a silver coin since I bought the detector for Christmas 2017 haha. Next goal is to find a pre-1900 coin. Closest I've gotten is a 1919s wheat

The ice is broken!

45 years ago "mercs" were almost an every outing find, nowadays not so much.
Soon the 1899 will surface and that monkey will be off your back.:aok:
Then a new monkey to tote around while you search for the elusive gold coin. The never ending quest for more.

Congratulations on your first silver! Your coin looks to be in beautiful condition... what a sweet find! :clapping: Thanks for posting it.

No matter how many you find, you always remember your first silver.

Congratulations!
