Thanks all! Believe it or not I found this at a school. Makes me wonder how does someone lose something like this? It was a good 3 to 4 inches down too so had to be there for quite some time.
My Bounty Hunter Discovery 1100 has only 3 tones:
Silver/copper
Mid-range
and Iron
Being still fairly new to the hobby (5 months and counting), and this sounds stupid, but I mistook that the tone for gold would ring as iron on my detector - don't ask me why (maybe because I've never found any gold before this). This rang out as mid-range and I can't tell you how many mid-ranges (at least 20 or more) I ignored that day in my hunt for silver/copper only. Well, lesson learned for sure. Surely will not make that mistake again.
The funny part is I was heading back to my truck to leave for the day (this being the last hole and deciding to dig a mid-range tone).
I surely need to hit that place again but with school in session now, it'll have to wait till the weekend.
