Finally pulled the trigger on xp deus 2

Trying to decide between the D2 and the Manticore. I'll be interested to hear your take. Good luck.

I have a deus 1, love it. Tried the Manticore from a club member and it is a good machine, but with the experience I have on the xp deus 1 helped me favor the xp deus 2 :) Yeah

It can be a challenge at first to get to know all the possible adjustments, but soon you'll realize why it has the reputation it has. I had to sell mine but if I ever get the money again the D2 will be my choice again.

You can just slip that control box in your pocket. When you find yourself in a waiting situation you can sit there and create new programs, edit others you created, etc.

Finally pulled the trigger on getting a xp deus 2. I think it might replace most of my other metal detectors I have for hunting in the parks, at the beach, going in the water wading where the swimmers were :) Yeah

Have to give this detector some space. It is not for beginners or the faint of heart. Mineralization can make the D2 look like another detector. Take your time and move slow.........

While the Deus machines have a lot of adjustments available that make it seem very complicated I think they are actually easier to navigate than more traditional machines.

A detector like the Legend has a long row of icons at the bottom. You have to remember what each one stands for in order to make adjustments.

With the Deus you are simply scrolling through a clearly defined list.......

Iron volume, notch, discrimination, ground balance, reactivity, etc.

True, at first glance the Deus machines seem complicated on the surface. Fact is you can run these machines in their stock programs and be very successful. This is also true for a lot of today's newer machines (even some of the older models too). My advice to anyone new to the Deus machine is to run a stock program for at least 50 hours before jumping into all the settings and making major adjustments. Sure, adjust the basic things like ground balance and volume, maybe even sensitivity and disc, but leave the rest until you get a good handle on it. Once you have a good handle on it and understand how the other setting effect the machines performance, you can really start to fine tune it to the site and/or your desired target. My typical hunt usually starts in a stock program, then I'll adjust from there.

Congrats! The XP DEUS II is the best iron and trash machine on the market!

I’m right on the cusp of picking up a Deus 2 myself. I’ve spent the past 20 years detecting farm fields and deep woods foundations in search of colonial era finds. These days I want to seriously start detecting salt water beaches and my old tried and true Tesoro Tejon isn’t up to that task. I’m a whisker away from a Deus 2 purchase.

What do you mean by this statement? The best for working through iron and trash or the best for finding iron and trash lol
That's for you to decide. The XP DEUS II can do either. I usually try to work through the iron and trash when I don't have much time to detect or it's late in the day and I am tired.
