Finally hit $100 in clad!

Outstanding C&A! What a great Sport Huh? Who needs a job! Theres free Money laying around all over the place! Love that clad! Concerning clad, it sure teaches a lot of important skills like reading travel patterns and drop zones..all sorts of other important skills clad hunting teaches that are translatable over into the other genres of this Sport....Goals for Clad are cool to establish and very helpful...

Theres Metal Detecting Merit badges for a season earning a '500 Nickel Quest', '4000 Q's', '3000 Dimes', '5000 Pennies', and the "10K coins per Season"...Set a goal, take a look at your AO through the eyes of a Master Clad Slammer, and get to stabbin'!

Punch the Master Clad Slammer status!...I did the '10k' my second year out, and like you, I recorded my dates and finds in a spiral notebook, dating my hunts and rolling over the totals day to day...averaging 8c/coin.... just out of curiosity as to what a guy might do in a season focused on clad...

Imagine, doing over 20,000 deep knee bends or squats in one year? Let alone the walking and swinging coil? Super healthy excersize and getting paid for it! Clad! Clad! Clad! Wonderful Clad!

Well done.
I think we're up to about $150.00 in Yen here. I just got a new XP Deus this week and took it down to our testing ground where we dig all the modern coins out of since it's been an event ground for about 40 years and just littered with coins. We started with the crappy Minelab Go Find 60 when I finally remembered to get back into metal detecting in 2015 and didn't know anything about recent detectors. We dug up quite a few coins with that over dozens of hunts. When my son dropped that in the water and I couldn't afford a big ticket replacement, I found a second hand used detector called the Ground EFX that was quite a step up and served us very well to dig the rest of the field of another $100.00 or so. When the Deus arrived this week, I went home from work early and me and my son went down to our test field and dug up the most coins in the least amount of time ever. 1653 Yen (about $16.00) in about 2.5 hours. We're sure the Deus will clear that field once we get a hang of how to manage it. Needless to say, this is going to be a fun weekend of park hunting, and then soon out to the ocean to see how well it does on the black iron beaches of Kawasaki. The other two detectors were literally useless and could not be used reliably at all when we tried them on the beach. Now, I think I actually came here to post in General that I got my Deus and wanted to hear from other Deus users about tips and tricks, etc.

That's a whole lot of holes to dig! 20k?! Man that would be nice! I can't imagine how big of a jar I would need haha and yes this is one of the best hobbies around! I have a lot of free time these days (getting shot comes with all kinds of awesome perks....) so I try to get out and swing as much as I can. I find it more therapeutic than anything else, and it really does "pay off" pun intended lol. Do they REALLY make merit badges for clad stabbing? ? Sounds like a heck of a goal!! One both me and Amanda can reach together! We're hoping to hit $200 before long and I plan on keeping our old notebooks to look back on. Free money definitely isn't a bad thing haha It blows me away how much is really just out there for the taking!

Congrats on the new machine! Its always fun to hit am area you already hit with a new machine! Never know what all you missed. Amanda and I brought two of our New machine's to an area we pounded pretty hard and shepulled a silver ring out of the ground within a few minutes. Hopefully you guys have luck as well!

Congrats on the $100! I got my first detector 5 weeks ago. I’m on my second detector but that’s a different story. I’m at about $20 so I’ll set my lofty goal at $100. I did find my first Wheat penny today. It was 14 inches deep so I earned it. My nox 800 with a 15 inch coil said it was there (VDI at 25) so I kept digging. Topsoil, then gravel, and the last 2 in clay. Done using only my lil edge digger with a plug of about 5 inches. Maybe I’m at $20 because I’m stubborn and will just keep digging and digging.

Haha! Man that's a big hole for a penny! I always laigh when Amanda is fighting with a plug and tell her "the hardest ones to find are ALWAYS pennies" lol I think that applies here as well...
