Dick The Bruiser and his famous "Stomach Claw"

He was one of my grandpas friends when I was a boy growing up in Indiana and they used to sit around and drink beer together. I remember one time Dick and his wife got into a fight and she bit a huge chunk out of his forearm. You won't read about that in a wrestling magazine...:lol:

I went with Steve CRUSHER CASEY one time after his wrestling days were over
he was the referee in the match DICK THE BRUISER wouldn't give me a aoutograph the ...;;;;l/;;-;;;;;;;

I was a Hulkamaniac, and before that, it was the Road Warriors and Baron von Raschke. "That's all the people need to know":lol: Good times. I saw the last two in perform in Duluth in the mid-80's.

As much as I hate modern wrestling, the wrestlers themselves I admire. Every time WWE or whatever form it is now comes to town, someone from the tour always drops by work for an interview. This past year I got to hang out with Seamus. Funny guy. They seem so different when you see them in a shirt and tie. One wrestler I absolutely HATE is JBL. He had the nerve to show up at 8am for his interview big-time hammered and in a bad mood. He even admitted it. Said he was "just getting back from the B-A-R". Nothing more nerve-racking than trying to interview a huge, drunk guy in a foul mood. What a tool.

Back in the early 90's Hulk Hogan dropped by to promote his crappy movie "Mr. Nanny" with a local kid. He was kind enough to entertain quite a bit of casual conversation and even record a few promos for us. I brought up a match I saw him in back in the early 80's when he arm wrestled Jesse Ventura. He got a huge laugh out of that and said it was the hokiest thing he had ever done in the ring and that included "Rocky III". I brought up a battle royale that happened when he had a hand in tossing Andre the Giant over the top rope (with a little help). He said the battle royales were always a great time. It was their all-star game of sorts. He continued on about the great friendship he had with Andre and mentioned that he was in his wedding. Sad he died later that year.

Iron Shiek, Santana Brothers, Captain Lou Albano, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, Sgt. Slaughter, even midget wrestling......those were the days.

Who didn't idolize this guy as a kid?
