Drones

I have been looking into drones.

I think you are going to see a lot more drones used in this hobby in the future , espically with the quality going up and cost coming down. If you are thinking about getting one you might start a thread on here and see if any other members are using them to scout locations.

Our Forum Brother 'Swing for the Ring' has a drone..He makes really nice hunting vids even...So yeah having a drone that is easy to deploy for scouting would be very beneficial...

A guy would need one to auto launch and dock and recharge from the roof of his car!...like some sort of flying Roomba! Deploy it out to have a look at the conditions, sit there in the parking lot, watch the screen and drink coffee before gearing up and going in...Hell, a guy could at least know how many abandoned towels are laying around all over the beach and empty cans to get an idea of how much gear to bring in for a fast and ergonomic retrieval! As well as evaluating the ROI potential without much effort...

Theres about nothing worse than going in with too few plastic bags to haul it all out! A guy sometimes has to take off their pants and tie a knot in the leg bottoms to make an impromptu sack to haul out all of those cans sometimes!

'Leaving money on the table' so to speak! "Send in the Drones!" It's embarrassing to be discovered by the LEO waddling out of a beach in your underpants with a pantload of cans and a shoulder full of towels..ask me how I know.....a drone would help let you know what to expect and prepare accordingly.....

That would be great for scoping out new locations from a birds eye view.
