Equinox no service after warranty?

I see no problem...the handle/pod unscrews from the shaft so even if they cant open it a person could just pay for a new handle/pod assembly...probably just someone/company trying to scare people from buying an equinox. Every other manufacturer out there knows their sales/profits are going to plummet....

heck evidently Makro/ Nokta wants detectors to be like cell phones. I posted on another forum in a thread with a guy asking about the impact, kruzer and nox and all i did was tell the guy i wouldnt even consider and impact unless he got a smoking deal..Now lets not forget I owned both a racer and racer 2 up until just a couple weeks ago....here was the reply I got...

Dear Bigboar, I am not responding to this post to change how you feel about our products but I feel like I must make something clear...

First of all, when we first announced the merger of Nokta & Makro Detectors, our announcement included the following lines ...''We will not only offer a richer product portfolio to our customers but address the whole market demand with products at different price levels....'' and this is still part of our goal today.

Second, when we released the Racer, we got tons and tons of feedbacks from end users asking for different settings, features etc and we did our best to offer that in the Racer 2… then came the Impact, our most advanced unit (and it still is today) with 12 different search modes offering a very powerful and versatile detector. Meanwhile, customers have been asking us to offer a waterproof unit at an affordable price…. So we did it…

If you look at the manufacturers in any industry today, whether it is the cars or cell phones, they constantly offer new products because development is an ongoing process and demands and needs differ from individual to individual, country to country…

Now, if as a manufacturer we are to be blamed for listening to our customers and for developing products and offering them pretty fast, then yes we are guilty ….but also very proud given the fact that 2 of the models listed in the title of this thread belongs to our company.

Thank you!

I was not aware that the main control unit detaches from the handle assembly. That could make things much easier if only control unit needed to be returned for repair/replacement. Still a lot of unknowns out there about this machine and only time will tell. Hopefully by the time all the preorders get filled there will have been enough info gained that those waiting to make a purchase can make a good informed decision.
As far as the response you received from Nokta/Makro, I think it really shows the vision of the company.
Nobody knows as well as me just how disappointed I was with the Racer BUT here is where they got my attention, THEY LISTENED, and they heard what the users were saying. Then when the Racer2 came out the listened some more making even more improvements and releasing the Impact. I know my Impact is going nowhere soon. So I have owned the Racer, Racer2, Imp[ct and now the Kruzer and even Stevie Wonder can see how well these machines have progressed. Not to say these machines are perfect but they do just what they are designed to do and they do it well (well except for the original racer)
For the short time they have been around I think they have done an incredible job.
And like I say, I am not beating up Minelab, I own 4 of their machines and have only had one issue. Their tech is hard to beat and I have a jar full of silver that says they do the job well.

Doesn't matter what jab you take on the Equinox 800 or 600, it won't help sales for those other manufacturer's unit freebee's -your testing , the Equinox will be a dominate breed :laughing: Just registered everything, including the Pro Find 35, happy hunting, Earl

Many are hoping this is the case, including myself!

Tell you what I think. And I have never hunted a salt water beach period.
I think folks will be surprised at bigger-ring sized gold jewelry that are masked by ferrous whatever and some will be found. Think Deus in water for separation and unmasking. Easiest way for me to say.

Also, Imwoukd like to see a gold ring buried 10" deep on beach, CTX vs Equinox stock coil to stock coil and see what happens...up in dry and.

So, lighter, better separation, better unmasking, faster sweep allowed, hotter on lower conductors. Recipe for big time success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be watching to see if I am wrong.

What other BS can you conj-or up , i think you should start by changing the Head liner , because it's fiction , not fact, i am sure you will get back lashed for this one :nono::hornetsnest::realitycheck:

Kruzer was never meant to compete with the Equinox Earl but was rather aimed at the AT Pro/AT Max, MX Sport machines and I believe it to be a much better machine than those. Keep posted for my review on the Kruzer soon.
As far as freebies, didn't your father ever tell you their is no such thing as a free lunch? Believe me when you test a machine you are giving of your time, your thoughts and a piece of your hide to boot! Just ask TNSS and DR. Tones as well as a bunch of other testers about the abuse they have taken by the hands of those with a agenda.
You should know by now Earl the only machine I favor is the one in my hand at any given time. I run them all and I like something about each of them. I own 4 Minelabs and if the equinox proves itself I will have a 5th. Just felt the need to pass along info I have heard and try to get to the bottom of what the REAL deal is.
Now we are all waiting to see what you are going to post up as found with your Equinox:grin:

if it were actually new tech coming out each time I would agree but the racer 2 was pretty much a racer with more options and the kruzer is a cousin of an impact...and all the kruzer did was crush the value for the owners of the impact, I do however think the nox was what caused them to release it at the price point they released it at though....in my opinion(just my opinion)its not up my alley to buy a machine only to have a company turn around and release a machine in 6-12 months with just some more bells on it at the same price. Then I have a machine I cant even get half out of what i paid for it. If they are going to work like that and compare to cell phones then they should have an upgrade plan like verizon, etc. Nothing personal to you at all choppa, its just how I feel about it

You did put a ? mark after the thread headline, that's good, Saving the Post, i ended up trading a Omega 8000 , i couldn't sell it- version 4, because they came out with 5, and 6, yes things like this we do take a beating on resales, i am happy to see the 600 and 800 use the same coils, after about 30 coil's , it get's nut's, i hope the price of Equinox coil's are back down to reality also, as the CTX3030 smart coils are off the hook , Earl

So you know for a FACT that my post is fiction? Feel free to post up the FACTS tat are to the contrary. When Steve Cox (the repair guy for ML in the UK) says that the control units are sealed and not serviceable then I would tend to believe him. Better yet, you can take yours apart and show me I am wrong. You have one right in your hands now buddy its your time to shine:laughing: show me I am wrong:cool::shock:
Ill be waiting:impatient::dontthinkso:

The more I think about it,the less sense it makes for Minelab to put out a machine that cannot be fixed, with or without warranty.I mean,if that’s the case, when one goes bad under warranty are they gonna send you a new unit? That’s definitely not cost effective seeming it’s waterproof, and lets face it,Garrett had a lot of leaks on the at pro.Nothing against the nox,but things happen and a batch could run through with a leak issue, for those who water hunt..Or even some small wire issue, inside the control coming loose..Surely they’re not gonna send a new unit just cause the control is sealed somehow..And the repair shop needs to make money, just like any repair shop in any business, warranty repair makes no money, but unwarranted machines do...I’m betting the Facebook posts are wrong, but I could be wrong also.

He said- she said

Show me the Proof, fiction for now , is it on ML sight ? BS until proven otherwise ,, ? which manufacturer paid you to post this one :?::lol: PS I never used FACEBOOK , all BS :D

Not taking anything personal at all. I love having a good discussion. Although will have to disagree with you a bit more. The Racer 2 did deal with issues of the original Racer, the biggest issue being the broad range that targets covered especially FOIL no matter how hard I tried I would always get fooled by tight small bits of foil. With the Racer2 they tightened the ranges and kept foil down in the lower regions where it should be. The Impact went even further offering more programs and multiple frequencies to choose from and gave even better target ID stability.
I am not sure where you are getting that the Kruzer is a waterproof Impact as the Kruzer has more differences to the Impact than it does have in common. I have had them both out side by side on a few occasions and there is no doubt these are 2 different machines.
I am more than fine agreeing to disagree as long as you do not bomb me with emojis like Earl does:laughing: (see what I did there?)
Calm down Earl I am just joking with you:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

That makes a lot of sense right there. Why would they give up after warranty repairs? Does make no sense. But when multiple people post that the big guy in the UK told them so what to believe? Partly the reason I started this thread, if it is true then people should know about it before investing in the machine. If it is not true then we will get some answers about warranties and repairs and such. Either way info is good to have.

Lol

Its all good Choppa, i did have a close look at the head, just to put some mind's at ease, under the face is a rubber seal gasket, looks like the entire face comes of, the unit gets a repair then a new gasket goes on resealed , In my opinion, we owner's have nothing to worry about anytime soon , Earl
