Ears broken and now what?

I have two Nox's with 3 years of using them hard in the woods and fields and have never had a broken coil ear.

Same here. Two 800s, one with over three years of use and one with over two years. Not in the surf, but at least half of the use is in water.

The ears certainly aren’t beefy, but I’d bet unnecessarily over tightening is frequently to blame.
