Thank you very much for the compliments Michael. Very much appreciated and you put a smile on my face. Thanks again!!:D

That's one sweet looking older Merc. Musta made your heart skip a beat before you checked the mint mark on the back. Cool relics too. I like the picture of my girlfriend on your token.

Nice

Nice Merc and relics Sean . Congrats. The tree that fell , did it expose the root ball? If you ever see a tree with the root ball exposed, detect it! I was on a job site where a root ball was exposed and it had all kinds of things from the 1800's in it. Bottles, relics, and coins were found. Looks like a nice site . Keep pounding it.

Tim, the tree broke from right about the middle. Just snapped like a twig in the wind.

And yes my heart skipped a few beats when I saw the date.

Oh the excitement of finding one of those '16 mercs, and then wondering....and wondering about the mint mark....then finding out it's not a Denver mint....happened to me so many times, but just finding one of those early mercs in such great condition is still a rush!

Nice pics and video play-by-play, Jersey Digger. :waytogo:

Heads/tails tokens were fairly common.

Haha, that heads/tails token is the best thing ever.

There were different versions of it.

My dad indicated that his was from the WWII era, I imagine from his time in the navy.
Somehow, the h/t coin was one of the things that disappeared from my life. I did get the Postum jar full of sea shells he picked up on Eniwetok.

Those are nice and the token is just wild. I like it. I might make it my new avatar...lol congrats
