Do must of you sell the gold and silver rings you find or keep them.

I am a finds hoarder. I view them as my trophies. I like to take them out now and then to get excited about the next hunt.

Down the line I plan to create a nice finds display, just need to find more stuff to fill it up

I want the 'trophy' to be the killer detector I buy from selling gold. :D :D

You are not bombing my thread. Its cool. Yeah my plan for sure is to find gold to get the f2. Then my wife cannot getbmad at me for getting one.

I sold my class ring for cash a couple years ago and had to give my SS# so they could keep track of how much cash I was getting, I was told if I got over $600 a year I had to pay income tax...Anyone have different/better information on that or is it garbage?

I haven't heard that before but it is certainly possible. They may have just asked for it because they were required to in case it was stolen. Finally states are coming down on low life thieves.

Was just wondering when you find gold and silver rings if you sell them for money to further your hobby or if you save them as treasure finds to keep and show people? I think if I ever find gold rings I would sale them to get money.
Thanks

What I have done is, when I have enough. I have a piece of jewelry made for myself or my wife. She's happy too.:shock: If not I just hold on to it till I need to cash it in.:p

I have my gold rings up on ebay right now. Looking to bring in a few extra dollars. Our 30th wedding anniversary is coming up Monday and I want to get the wife something special.

Some will die thinking they can take it with them. Make a good episode on pawn stars when their life finds get sold for cheap. I've even heard of a couple people who haven't even cashed in their clad finds for 35 to 40 years. I'm not a collector. If the cash is right its gone!

Cool man. I am wanting to use my Metal Detector I got from my grandpa and find clad and hopefully gold and silver and get an F2. That is my goal.

You should have no trouble doing that! That's a great goal! I say GO FOR IT!!! Just get really good at finding clad,.... and set your machine up as a strictly DIME QUARTER machine..... Gold is great but I would defenatly wait for the F2 before wasting hundreds of hours looking for gold... when you could be squirling away an easy $5 per hunt in clad. A few hunts a week and you will have enough for an F2 in NO TIME FLAT!

I have found one gold 14 K wedding band and I wear it because it's a perfect fit!! I would sell all gold for scrap if I found enough for sure!
