Curse of Oak Island

Why the assumption that there was deceit, lying, misleading, etc... ? People throughout history have been QUITE SINCERE about treasures they think they're on-the-trail of. Ee.: no ill-will in relaying stories. Based on their perceptions of what they saw. Yet can very well be misled . Imaginations can run wild, with utter sincerity.

And also bear in mind: You are buying the original story without question. Without considering that IT TOO can be subject to the telephone game, ever since then. Ie.: salacious parts (about incremental 10 ft. layers, etc... get added over time).

I have no doubt that the original story has been "embellished" over time...heck, just in the past few years that the show has been on the air.

But do you personally think that the story of a couple of kids seeing lights then investigating and seeing the block and tackle (the "original" story, of course, as told today) is true, or do you think that either they made the whole thing up (which would be one of the most epic pranks in history :) ) or did they really see "something" and start digging (although a couple of kids in the 18th century digging that deep by hand is hard to believe)

It is unlikely that Samuel Ball is a direct decendent of the Templars, as his origins are likely from Western Africa, which is not remotely close to Israel or Syria. He was a slave in Colonial America.

The name Samuel is also not so far off from "Samael", which means "Venom of God". He was considered the Angel of Death in the Talmud. Despire condoning the sins of Man, the Archangel Samael remained a servent of God. Perhaps this whole Oak Island thing is a punishment for sin of averice.

That's what they WANT you to believe....The Templars visited West Africa, as evidenced by the trees in Liberia shaped like a Templar cross, and the triangle shaped etchings in stones found there :)

Gary Drayton has come a long way from driving his painter's van to the Treasure coast.

Pryan, you are simply repeating your same question to me. And again, you infer that there are the 2 options: "true" vs "lie". As if there were no other 3rd options.

And again I point you to my post #69 as the answer. It need not be an "either/or" proposition.

Best part this season.
