Club Guy or Lone Wolf?

Mostly alone. The wife likes to go with me to the local parks on the weekends. Once in a while my old cycling buddy will tag along. But most of the time it's me, the dirt and the detector. No one else gets up that early.

The hubby and I are a detecting team. He does the toning and I do the digging. We switch every so often. We just love hanging out together, being outdoors, away from the worries of the world...just us.

started off last month as a multi player...I would ask other MDers to go out. seems like everyone came with me to my "spots" and no one took me to theirs.

so now it's just mostly the lone wolf ...me and my son when he can get out.

That's what happens, everyone wants to hunt but no one has anyplace to go. For now I'm hunting solo, but I do hunt with a buddy sometimes.

I hunt with my son 90% of the time (I can't get rid of him! ). Sometimes I go with a friend who introduced me to the hobby, but he's not as obsessed with it as I am. I would, however, like to find others (not a club) who have more experience and know how to share some of the fantastic sites I've found. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I like company. Long answer to a simple question.

Lone wolf,solo driver.It is cool to relic hunt with others but i dont play well with coin shooters who just want a pile of modern coins.I rather dig one or 2 100+ year old coins.I have very little time to hunt so if i can go to a old place that is what i prefer.It is safer to relic hunt with a friend to.Just 3 weeks ago in IN they had to get a search party to find a guy who had his legs give out in a field hunting arrowheads.

Most of the time, just me. Not really a Lone Wolf. But it just seems to work out that way. Sometimes my wife or granddaughter goes along. They seem to get bored pretty quick & wonder off somewhere.

Mostly solo for me. I have met up with some other members of this board in the past and it was pretty cool. However with three young kids and a wife it is very, very rare when I can be "alone".

This may change however, because I introduced my older brother to Metal Detecting (he uses my backup Ace 250) and he pesters me every day to go!! LOL! He's hooked...

Lone wolf type. GF goes with me sometimes. I try and hunt early BECAUSE I don't want to run into others. I'm not what you'd call a "People Person". Don't care for people as a whole. Individuals are ok but the crush of humanity...no thanks. Not by choice anyway.

I am a lone hunter, not by choice, but have found no one who can hunt my crazy hours...early before work and after work. And I like to get up early on Saturday and hit the schools before the kiddos wake up, get fed and Mom or Dad says lets go to the playground! I think I am the only MDer in Little Rock that hunts school and park totlots!

When I started detecting, I was the President of a local club for a number of years. I tried to get across that the whole idea was to have fun. Things came up to where I couldn't be a part of the club and I guess I have been pretty much a lone wolf ever since. The last time I attended a club meeting, their attitudes had changed. It wasn't the friendly group of the past. The current members seemed to be more interested in themselves and monetary gain than enjoying the hobby. I still hunt with a few friends now and then, but my free time is usually when no one else can go. At least by myself, I can hunt when and where I want, for as long as I want. Clubs are fine if you can find a good one. You have to decide for yourself if they are what you want.

lone wolf, but since my husband bought me a BHID for Christmas, he got my old Prism V, so now when he can, he comes out and detects with me. I have recently had offers to detect with other forum members, but we just have to get a time when we are all available.

No clubs around, heck, no other metal detecting folks around according to what I've seen in person as well as on the map on the forum. Just as well, one reason I do this it to escape the nonsense of the offspring of people that should never have mated......
