Civil war belt plate*cellar holes with sniffy

Amazing find Dave and in such beautiful condition. Stay safe tomorrow with the storm coming..

I found one that I think is the same here http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/nypd-police-uniform-circa-1895-1905-136738938 thats a hard buckle to find a price for lol , at the link you can get a free trial and see what the whole set up went for, still looking for 1 that sold by itself, the one listed I think had # 31 so there were at least that many made lol
thanks for looking.somebody on another forum posted a pic out of a beltplate book but,it says the police issued plates were made of cast white metal.mine is brass :?: so,i'm thinking there is a chance this is military & civil war issued

I found a few brass ones but none yet that have that wreath around it , driving me crazy lol , still looking, even checking out the repro companies , would be sweet if it was civil war issue

I can check out that buckle for you but you'll have to send it to me for closer examination ;) Kidding aside that's stunning!!

I took a few hours off and am now back at it lol , still no exact match but I did find an interesting item you may find worthy of a look http://hanoverbrass.com/More6.htm look at the lower T112 .. see the divot ? also it says that one was made by a william smith of New York and its a virginia plate . since my eyes are growing weary now I will take it up in the morning and try to check this guy out maybe it will help put that in the prefered time frame, regardless, it isn't a common plate by any means and the condition is great and I would do a few unthinkable things to have it under my grass comb (coil )
