The best tip I can give u with the cibola is that after many hours of use, I notice 1 thing of interest. When a good target is located, that is it sounds in at least 1 direction consitently, around the pull tab setting, run over the target with the pinpointer button depressed. If it makes a very high pitched sound, it is alomost always junk. Ocaissionally it is a coin at the surface but not ofter. If it is a mid range or lower, almost always a keeper.
With gold jewelry, you will have to dig around the nickle disc....I have had enough of that for a while. I have found gold jewelry like this. larger gold I tested on worked fine where I would normally dig.
