Silver always brings a smile. :D

At least you got out to hunt today, the weather is horrible, a overnight low of 1 degrees for tonight, don't see myself getting out tomorrow either.:(

We still have snow in spots.. I tried to dig a couple of good sounding targets today where they were frozen in place..couldn't do it. Past several days have been nice with some clouds, but mostly blue skies. More snow expected on Sunday. Glad I could get out for a bit. :)

Here's my Mojave with my headphone setup.
Belt pack is by EliteCore.
Molded in ear monitors by JHAudio.
Uses a stereo male 1/4" to male XLR cable
Between the detector and belt pack.
Belt pack accepts any stereo male 1/8" plug.
Great for using earbuds or compact headphones.
I like to wear a wide brimmed hat so I haven't
tried any large headphones.

if '65s are there...

..you'll be digging silver soon!

I know there has to be more silver where I was. That's the second silver coin I found there in two days, and I was digging several '65s there too. Just need to get the coil over 'em. Lots of old all-steel beer cans where I was digging. Found a 12oz "cone top" there too. Makes me wonder if that wasn't an old camping or picnic spot years ago, or if has just been snow dummies going there for a long time...

The ground was frozen here, A couple of hunts, I thought it might ruin my 31" Sampson as it started flexing the handle before the plug came loose. Once under the frozen surface layer ,it dug rather easily.

Well Kellyco came through after a lot of back and forth this week they refunded my shipping cost and offered to pay for over night shipping to make sure it got here today in time for my girlfriend's birthday.

Kellyco is still posting this message:

* This product is currently out of stock or on back-order. (Additional shipping time may be required or there will be a delay in shipping your item). 1 will be backordered.

If your really not wanting to wait just cancel the whole order and get the one that is available right now on eBay with free shipping for the same price.

I couldn't help myself. I just read a post where the Impact was able to hit something similar to what's pictured below in one direction. The little $251.10 Mojave hit it in ALL directions. BTW, that's a nickel in the center of those 7 nails. Do you own test and you'll be smiling from ear to ear.

I need to get one ,soon. And the Mojave is a classic Tesoro design, not looking like a cheap Chinese CTX 3030 knockoff as the impact does.

Don't be going around blabbing about how good the Mojave detector is once you get one, because everyone will want one and then you won't have an advantage anymore. Learn to be tight lip like I am.:D

It has to be the undisputed champion of tot lots and curve strips.

Your test inspired me. My ancient silver sabre II will disc out the nails and hit the nickel in multiple directions but it is not a Mojave. That is tight but I don't see what this has to do with finding clad at a tot lot ?

Nothing to do with tot lots. Everything to do when you're detecting around nails. How do your high dollar detectors fair in that same test?

But they are not going to lower their standards to use an low priced 60's looking metal detector, which reminds me, I haven't seen Earl posting lately ?

Caveat: Very unscientific test using iron of various size. Done indoors with lots of EMI. Discriminating all this Iron out did not yield very good results with a modern nickel for me. It was also kind of hard to film with my phone and swing at the same time. I should also say that a 3D test at depth will yield different results than a 2D test like this.

Mojave and heavy iron: unless I got a dud, discriminating out various iron with varying levels of conductivity did not result in hitting the nickel from all directions. As you can see it struggled to get a signal at all.

Deus and heavy iron: Varying levels of iron discriminated out. Standard tones...I also did not perform this test in full tones. Having said that this demonstration is invalid because I did not get proper swing while rotating and trying to film, but wanted to throw it up here anyway. Too tired to redo it and everything is packed up.

ive found two more wheat pennies in my yard since I've got the Mojave.
Both times I pulled at least 3 nails out before I found the coins.
Have no way to verify the exact pattern but both were a solid repeatable signals.
Mojave is definitely a wolf in sheeps clothing!

Jadocs, I realize thats done indoors, but sometime try that outside and you should see the separation. Those coins are pretty close together too.
